In the default Photos iOS app, it seems sometimes photos appear or disappear automatically from an album, at least temporarily.
I first noticed this in the Recents album when I scrolled to the top, then back to the bottom and noticed that the last photo had jumped to a different column despite not deleting or hiding any photos during the scroll. After this I investigated and found that when I initially load the Recents album, the last photo is in the third column (in the three-column view), meaning the total number of photos/videos should be divisible by 3, but in fact the number wasn't. But after scrolling to the top and then back down, the last photo had jumped to a column that would better line up with the current total number of photos/videos.
Investigating further, I found that as I neared scrolling to the top, photos from a certain point onwards suddenly jumped to a different position, indicating injection or disappearance of some photos prior in time to the point of jumping.
I assume this is due to iOS programming loading earlier photos only as I scroll to the top, for resource reasons or otherwise, and nothing fishy is going on with my photos. Further evidence for this theory may be seen when zooming out to views that show more columns, in which I can sometimes see some earlier photos not showing although I have reached that area in the album.
If anyone could confirm that would be appreciated.
