When I tap "Add People" in the People album, a handful of thumbnails are blank/white. I accidentally merged a couple and now they appear in the main People album. When I tap on the blank thumbnail, nothing happens - it appears as if they are not associated with any photo. Other than tapping "Hide" I can't seem to remove them from the album. Is there any way to 'reset' the People tags?

Strangely, they are linked to photos that are pending permanent deletion. You can delete them or the photos to get rid of them.
