I've put up a few pictures from my trip to Africa onto FLICKR

These particular ones happened to be shot with a Nikon D80 using a 12MM lens or perhaps (probably in a different album) a 300MM lens.

I'll be adding more of my favorites as I find 'em so refresh once in a while if you're curious about seeing more.

I'd love to hear an honest criticism - if you don't like something, let me know; just let me know why too.

Great photos! Looks like quite the place.

I want a Nikon Digital SLR. I think I will start saving my pennies for the D200.

Very nice! You are so lucky to go to Africa. I really like the Rhino one with the sun's rays. I have no criticism - they would look great as a desktop or in a frame

If you are going to travel, Africa is one of those "must go to" places. I went to Kenya a while ago, it is much better to see the animals in their own habitat, and not in the zoo. I have never been to a zoo since, and that trip has broad-end(spelt it wrong I think) my perspective of how we mistreat animals.

Wow, those are pretty good... I'd love to see more. I'd love to go to Africa, it just seems like an amazing place... but maybe kinda hot... but still amazing.

'kinda hot'... depends on when and where you go. Regardless, definitely put it on the list of things to do in your life. I lived in Africa (Liberia and later Ghana) as a child and it will always hold a place in my heart. I cant wait for the next time I get to visit.

Wow, you guys generalize sooo much. Eg: I went to Asia for my holidays, now Asia is helluva big and you probably want to know where in asia I went because you know that India and China are very different counties.

Now, me being the patriotic African boy with a mac can tell you with all my heart that these are pictures of rural Africa. Africa is HUGE and Egypt, Congo, Namibia, South Africa and everywhere else are quite different and shouldn't be generalized. It gives a false perception of the country because, I assume, when you think of africa you all get images of black guys (natives :p) herding cattle and/or wild game that you'll see on your 'Safari'.

So there, I've criticised and I'm not afraid to admit it. Please don't pwn me too seriously now guys :p

Re: Hot comments - I was in Northeast Africa, so it was never *super* hot. During the day it could get a little toasty but nothing extreme.

These pictures are (mostly) from Kenya, one is from Tanzania, but the entire trip consisted of the above two, Botswana, Zambia, Zimbabwe and South Africa. Pictures of the latter four (minus SA) should make their way onto flickr today.

Very nice. I'm supposed to go to Kenya on a documentary shoot, but I don't think my presence is really necessary. Plus, too many lions and tigers and bears, oh my! :) --okay maybe no bears...

Or tigers...

As far as Africa being hot, I guess it would depend where in Africa you go. I have a friend who is from the Congo and he said it never gets too hot there. It sounds like a nice place to visit, except for the civil wars and genocide and stuff.

I'm all for introducing tigers to Africa. It would save everyone a little confusion.

Haha, I appreciate it! No, I'm just a kid with a camera and some inexpensive lenses - the majority of these were actually taken with my (intended) backup, a Nikon D80 because its pictures came out better then those with the D2x. My most expensive lens (wide angle 12-24) cost less then $700.

I'm upping a couple more I like. Does anybody know of a quick watermarking program so that I don't have to load up photoshop and manually stamp everything?

If you make a custom paintbrush tool, you can stamp them in a matter of a minute or so. Might be just as fast, if not faster, than another program. Just my thoughts.
