Salutations! While recently going through boxes while moving, I found my original 2007 iPhone in it's box. After charging it up, I noticed there were over 700 pictures still on the camera roll, most of which hadn't been saved to an external drive yet. Upon plugging it into my MacBook, I was prompted to install an update (3.1 I believe it was). After installing it through iTunes, which took many hours, I came home to find the message "No SIM card installed" and cannot get past this screen. I searched Google for a solution but the majority of results were from 2010 or earlier and seemed to all require a restore of the phone (which in this case would erase all the photos and defeat the purpose). Any help or suggestions for retaining my pictures?

Finally had the chanv=ce to go and pick up a SIM for the old iPhone today. After going through a lengthy restore process, I was finally able to access the phone again. Problem now being, even though iTunes recognizes it, Aperture etc. still don't and thus I am still without a way to extract the 700+ photos from the phone onto an external drive. I tried using Phoneview as mentioned earlier but it only reveals contacts/text messages, not the photos. Any ideas?
