I've got a really annoying problem with my iPhone XS (iOS 13.4.1) and Photos (5.0.) There are around 500 photos that I cannot get Photos to realise are already in the library. Every time I connect my iPhone, it says there are 500 "new photos" to import, that are already in the library. I have tried:

  • Using Image Capture to delete every photo on my iPhone (none showing in Camera Roll or albums)
  • Checking the 'delete photos from my iPhone' box when importing these photos
  • Using Power Photo to check for duplicates and delete them
  • Uchecking 'sync photos' in the finder when I connect my phone
What else can I do to make my phone and/or Photos to understand that these photos are already in the library?

Sadly no answer, but the same problem here - just suddenly decided that a whole load of the photos were new and needed to be re-imported every time
