Photos in PB2–Updating People

Photos keeps saying Updating People... To finish updating your people, lock your iPhone and connect it to power.

I do that every night and still get that message. Also I’ve force quit Photos and a hard reset of my phone multiple times which is a 7 Plus. Any ideas? Thanks.

How big is your Photos library? It's only one little dual-core device cranking away at the task for ~8hrs a day--it's going to take time. It's also possible Apple's current iteration of face detection algorithm just continually re-analyzes photos for faces forever. Or maybe it does multiple passes on photos over a period of time to make sure its confidence level is high enough to determine it's a face.

I have 1500 photos and 160 videos. Something seems stuck.

Bump. Did this ever clear up during the final? Noticing it on my iOS 11 devices as well.
