What has been everyone’s experience with very large Photos libraries. I’ve got 5 libraries in total. 3 were old iPhoto libraries that have been converted to photos libraries, one aperture library, and one current photos library. All of them combined is about 1TB of data.
I’m moving from an iMac with a 512GB SSD to an iMac Pro with 2TB. Would it be worth combining these into a single very large library? Previously I left them separate because I didn’t have enough space on the internal drive and left the older libraries on external storage. I don’t plan on having any directly attached external storage initially.
I also have a NAS that I primarily use for backups and CloudStation etc. it is pretty slow though so I’ve resisted putting photo libraries there, just their backups.
Thoughts? Back when I used iPhoto i kept a library for each year. I stopped doing that with Aperture and photos though.
