I'm not sure if this is an bug or if it's normal. If I look at photos taken before my phone updated to iOS 15, photos taken at home say "home" as the location right above the date and time. Now photos taken in the exact same place (the address shows up exactly the same if I look at its information) says the name of the city instead of home. I haven't changed any settings, all that changed is the iOS. Maps and my contact card still know where "home" is so I don't know why photos no longer recognizes it. I know it's a stupid nitpick but I'd like my photos to be consistent.

Have you tried going into a photo and scrolling up to reveal the location map? Do that on several, then leave photos app open in background then come back later to see if it's updated. And if it didn't update, close out Photos app and reopen. I seem to be having similar issues with Photos on my 13promax since new a few weeks ago. It would just say Today on pics I just took. Then when I went back later I did this action, and it would then update the location at the top. So basically scroll up inside a pic to reveal the location map, then swipe left to go to next pic. That one would also update. Then swipe left to the next one and it won't update. You have to scroll up again to reveal location map. This repeats.. Really crazy. Let us know if this helps at all. I'm really curious.

It's not working for me :( I used to have a similar problem to yours but it'd add the location eventually, sometimes a couple days. Now, it adds the location immediately but won't recognize that the location is "Home". I'll give it a few days leaving it open in the background and see if anything changes, I'll let you know

Well, I've done some digging into my photos.. I'm having exact same issue as you it seems.. I'm guessing ever since I updated to 15.2.. It was fine on shipped iOS version.. It was fine on 12/16(15.2). That was the last home pic I took before it just states the City at the top of photo on subsequent pics at home. I checked with Metapho.. I was on 15.2 on 12/16 so I don't think it's a version issue. Well, I guess a bug that has surfaced in this version would constitute a version issue.. Submit feedback to Apple on this. I will as well. If we get enough people doing that maybe they will pay attention.. I just checked. My MacBook Air does show it as Home correctly.. Gotta be an iOS issue..
