Not new. These effects were in iOS 11.
Wow. Okay thanks. Not sure how I never noticed that. Hell I just accidentally found it today.
I agree. I only found them by accident myself. For all the wonderful things Apple creates and does, they frequently do a really poor job of documenting stuff.
