Hi all,

This morning I have just started using iCloud photos library.

Annoyingly, only about half of the photos on my mac have uploaded to iCloud.

Can someone please advise how I can force upload the photos which, for some reason, have not uploaded to iCloud.

Thanks in advance,
James

Wait a few days. It can take that long to move so much data.

I would have, but not only have I purged the photo library so much that it only now includes around 750 photos (so there isn't much data to move), but photos that were on my phone, and not my mac, moved over to iCloud fine too.

I think it's probably another issue...?

I'm having a similar problem:

I have an iPhone7 and have the iCloud 2TB plan and am currently at about 100GB. My photos & videos aren't auto-uploading as promised. About 80% of my photos and videos uploaded to iCloud, but the rest aren't uploading. I called Apple and the two most common reasons for the photos/videos not uploading have been ruled out:
1) phone can't connect to the Apple web page
2) don't have enough storage.

A senior tech is working on this, but he doesn't know of any other reasons the photos/videos wouldn't upload.

Is there any way to force the photos to upload?

All the sources I have found - not to mention what Apple says - say that the upload should occur automatically which is why there is no need for a "force upload". Since the techs are aware of situations in which the photos aren't auto-uploading, it raises another question: why isn't there a "force upload" button?

All I can add is I’ve heard iCloud is slow for some reason. Mine has all photos up to yesterday, but not today, even after switching to WiFi once I got home (I knew I had a terrible data connection out where all the pictures were taken)

I’ve also heard - in this forum- that one Drive and dropbox so much faster. I thought they’d all be about the same. I’m in line

Hate to bump this year old thread, but calls to wait for syncing haven't worked.

Only about half of my photos have been uploaded to iCloud, from the Photos app on my mac. Importantly, new photos upload perfectly fine, but a bunch of older photos that are only present in Photos on my mac have not uploaded.

Is there any solution, or any way to force these older photos to upload to iCloud? I'm about to switch over to google photos a this point, as having only half of my photos backed up is pretty pointless.

Thanks for any help.
