I've had a few times when I save a photo on my phone and need to use it on my iPad or 13" MBP. I have iCloud photos enabled but I will check on photos app(on iPad or MBP) and the picture won't be there. It will say that it has updated within the last minute. I will close and reload but that doesn't fix the problem. Sure it will appear anytime between five minutes after and 30 mins after. But that is not fast enough. Is there some setting where you can trigger a sync on iPhoto between all your devices. How do I make it go faster?

Air drop it and for some reason when it syncs it shouldn’t duplicate it.

I’ve been in the same situation with my iPad and iPhone

the only way i think you can "force" a sync, is to not have Photos open on yr target device when the photo is synced from the original device device to the cloud , then open Photos on the target device which automatically as a part of the process of opening it checks automatically if there are any unsynced photos.
if this is still not happening for you, then yr connection to the net is somehow very slow.
