I am on public beta 3 on an iPhone 6s and it seems that people from my Mac can't be merged with the people the scan finds as well as I get no results from places view although I should have plenty. However, when I take a new photo with my iPhone it does correct add to the places view.

Unfortunately there is no sync between anything with faces at the moment. It's noted in the release notes for the current betas and should arrive in a later beta.
Not sure what's going on for places for you. Working ok here.
Glad that the faces merge is in the works.. BTW Are you on an iPhone or an iPad? Or using iCloud instead of local iPhone storage?

Ipad pro 9.7 and iPhone SE. Though it's logical that they would I did do some tests to make sure that facial and object recognition matched between the two. They do and indeed do on Photos on the Mac too.
Yes for me as well. Did you remove all your photos from you iOS device and then once removed resysnc to add them back?
I was wondering if that causes this issue or it is some other bug since one of the replies above reports places working as expected.
