I have an iPhone 11 Pro Max with iOS 13.

After shooting photos and video with Camera.app, I use ImageCapture.app to download the files onto my rMBP.

I have noticed that after I do this I can see a thumbnail when the Camera.app is up, and if I tap on it, it will show maybe 8-10 images that I previously shot.

Not entirely sure if these got downloaded to my rMBP, but I assume they did.

So the questions is, "Why are these photos (and possibly videos) persisting after I have supposedly downloaded things onto my rMBP?!"

You have to manually delete them, the "downloading" part is more an "export a copy" than a real transfer of the original.

Not true, because ImageCapture.app offers a "Delete after downloading" option, so it is more like a "move".

The problem I am complaining about is the fact out of the hundreds or thousands of pictures that I might *move* from my iPhone to my rMBP, all of them get deleted off of my iPhone after a successful copy EXCEPT for like maybe 10-12 every time...

THAT is what I want to eliminate.
