Hi,

I recently updated my MBP to the El Capitan beta and the addition of GeoTagging encouraged me, after a full backup, to jump from iPhoto to Photos and pay the $3.99 for the 200GB.

My MBP says that my old iPhoto library, now referenced by Photos, is 113GB in size. After three days, my 20000+ photos are now uploaded into iCloud. I've closed and reopened Photos a few times and it tells me that the uploads are complete. However, when I go into Manage Storage, iCloud is only reporting that my Photo Library is 74.9GB.

Could I have lost some photos/videos during the upload? Or is something else going on here?

You should check in Photos.app in iOS, and in iCloud.com if the number of photos tallies.

So I did this and the number of photos tally.

I've attached a screen grab from my MBP

I also have a difference in my libraries. My local library is about 20gb, while only 15 gb on iCloud. Im guessing Photos need more local files sine locally you have face indexing, and different preview sizes etc. Im guessing those files are probably not in icloud since it makes more sense that each device generates its own previews etc?
