Just a quick skate session with my girlfriend. Usually do lots of video but I wanted to get some stills today. I’m loving the styles customization!

How my 16PM did: 26 minutes of mostly photo, 88F outside, shade. 100% to 89%, she got warm but not blistering, my 15PM would have been hotter.

Twice as many stars visible!

The 16 pro max using night mode for 30” shows more stars than the 15 pro max using night mode and ISO 640. The images are heavy cropped screenshots of the un edited ProRAW image. Arrows point to two galaxies, M31 & M33. In the 15 pro max 30” night mode image, M33 is barely visible and fewer stars are seen compared to the 16 pro max. Now all I need is a dark sky and good transparency. Hopefully a cold front will come through soon.

Also the 5x camera has improved. More detail seen on the moon. I used a tripod, the Moment app, manual focus with focus peeking, lowered the ISO to about 160, 1/45 shutter and this is why a tripod is recommended so the iPhone will be stable. Photo edited in Lightroom.

This is probably a 300% crop

I got super lucky and got my new iPhone 16 Pro before going to Iceland. I love playing with the new photographic styles; Amber is awesome.

Cascais, Portgual

A photo like this is really very hard to get with a DSLR. You need 16-stop ND filter, that you really can't see through in the viewfinder, and the resulting images won't be very sharp. With the iPhone 16 Pro, I can shoot images like this with a light tripod and almost no setup. And no back pain.
