Photos TAKEN with iphone ....where are they?

So Ive taken some pictures of people for their contact image with the iphone. Ive gone to contacts, edit, clicked on the image, comes up with 'take photo', and then its all set BUT where does the iphone store THAT photo?
Id like to transfer that photo to my computer.
Anyone?

The photos go into the photo library on the iPhone. Under camera roll.

Almost forgot to mention that you can access the camera roll from the "Photos" App.

So to clarify, I am not using the camera option to start to take the picture. I start with contacts, edit(enter) someones info, click on the blank icon to change/add their picture and the iphone comes up with the options of "Take Photo" OR "Choose existing photo". I choose "take Photo" The camera comes up, I take the pic, size and such. The photo comes into that little icon with their contact info. and then thats it.
Afterwards, I can not find that photo I took in photos in either camera roll or the photo listings.

I just tried it on my iPhone and it did the same thing. It's only in the contact and not in Photos. I couldn't find a way to save it in Photos.

I suggest taking the picture thru Camera so it can be saved in Photos and then going into Contacts and selecting in Photos.

Right but so where does it store those photos then? I mean, its gonna use up memory somewhere.
