In my new iPhone 11 the Photos has a different view than on my 6S with iOS 12.

I want the day view, but I want the thumbnails like it used to be. Not the pushed together collage like it is now. Is there any way to go back to the way it was?

Me too. I'm not really a fan of this overcrowded view. The older one looked better to me.
Also, I miss having the photos grouped by location. Actually, in iOS 13 the location doesn't appear to be visible anywhere at all anymore. Is there any way to get that back?

The location comes back in 13.1.

To get the smaller thumb nails just choose albums from the options at the bottom.

Just go to All Photos tab next to the Day view and hit the +/- button and zoom out to your preferred layout of thumbs.

It's not just about the size of the thumbnails. It's about having them grouped by date and/or location. OK, the location is coming back later, but I also miss the grouping by date. Now all I see are an awful lot of photos crammed together, and the date is only visible as a header if I scroll up and down. The old view was much clearer.

Glad to hear that the location is coming back. I have spent a lot of time to geo-tagging imported photos

Actually, running 13.1 Public Beta 4, I’m only seeing the location at the top of some photos. All of my photos are geotagged; if I scroll up on a photo, the map appears with the location pinpointed. However, only some photos have the location listed along with the date at the top of the photos. I hope this is corrected in the final release. It seems to be entirely random.

When I open the People album it says "208 Photos Scanned". Still 20.011 to go.
Huh? All my photos had already been scanned. Is it scanning them all over again now?
