The photos widget on iOS 11 has been surfacing "On this day" smart albums, which is kind of neat.

However, it tends to grab most of these historical moments from almost 10 years ago, which, in my case, means it's showing me photos of my ex and not my wife.

This also happened to me on the new Siri watch face on Apple Watch.

Is there any way to restrict what photos Photos is using for these albums so that it only pulls from photos after a certain date?

I can't imagine I'm the only one getting photos that I'm not dying to see every day. That being said, I don't want to delete the photos from my library.

For the iPhone widget the only way would be to just delete the photos. But on the watch you can select a specific folder to use. So either use an existing folder or create a new one just for the watch, and then sync that one ex free.
