I make an .eps in quark 6 in OS X. on a dual 1.42Ghz G4 with 1028Mb Ram.

When I try to open it in Photoshop 7.0 (something I've done a thousand times previously), it either says it can't rasterize it, or it opens a blank empty page.

Illustrator 10 does the same thing.

I take the same .eps to another mac (350 Mhz G4) with the same Photoshop, and it rasterizes fine.

This is driving me nuts, does anyone have any ideas why it won't work on one machine when it does on another?

I've tried reinstalling Photoshop to no avail.

thanks in advance.

I trashed the .plist ones in ~/library/preferences/ and so far it looks like it's okay again.

how come they get so corrupted? I'd be interested to know any more info.

many thanks for your help neut..!

this has been a problem since OS#.

prefs. seem to corrupt when the program writes to itself...or i could just be talkin' out my ass.

?

at least it's an easy fix. you lose your preferences in the program, but at least you don't have to reinstall (so always check your prefs. first). ;)

anyone know why this happens? <at work...no time to search the forums>
