sometimes (maybe 50% of the time) whenever i save an image to either the desktop, or an open folder (i have "show icon preview" active) - the resulting icon will only render half way?

its just a matter of moving the icon to a closed folder and then moving back to the desktop - nothing major, but annoying.....

also resaving a different image with the name of an image allready on the desktop - the icon wont update?

has anyone else seen these bugs....

also, screen spanning doctor now interferes with my trackpad..... it didnt use to do this under 10.4.2

I have seen the icon preview bug with images not created by PS also...Preview and screenshots tends to do the same thing. :(

As for the trackpad... what do you mean? What does it mean for screen spanning doctor to "interfere" with the trackpad?

i think its "Screen Spanning Doctor"
http://www.rutemoeller.com/mp/ibook/ibook_e.html

ive had some trouble with the trackpad on my ibook having a mind of its own, and losing functionality(in the worst case) - jumping around the page and not moving where i would like it too. <my USB mouse works fine by the way>

so i reset the PRAM, and the PMU, which seemed to fix the problem - and also disable screen spanning doctor.

so of course i reinstalled and ran applejack, onyx etc...
and the problem reappeared.....

so i can only assume its "SSD" doing it?

hopefully OSX 10.4.4 will set it back to normal again!

Hmmmm...strange. What other system extensions or hacks do you have? I also run screen-spanning doctor and I have not experienced trackpad problems. Do they only happen when the second screen is plugged in, or all the time when SSD is installed? :(

its very intermittent, i think it mostly happens after waking from sleep.

I tried installing iscroll2, but that made the problem worse - so i had to uninstall that. other the SSD i have UNO installed, but no other hacks.

funny enough, the trackpad is working fine right now!

since 10.4.3, the screen spanning doctor makes my res. go down to 800X600 occasionally on reboot. If I disable it, it stops (this happens wether the second screen is there or not.)

try this: Open the Finder's get Info window and cut or remove the preview. To do that, in the Get Info window select the preview icon and go to the "Edit" menu and select "Cut". This will remove Photoshop's rendered preview and replace it with Finder's preview. However Finder's preview appear only in Icon View mode. But I think it's better than having a half rendered image...

That's so weird. But...ahem. I neglected to mention that I also do not use the standard trackpad driver -- I use SideTrack by Raging Menace. (link)

Tod...I have found that sometimes, OS X forgets the proper resolution for the external display or selects a funny one, but most of the time it is very reliable. The strange thing to me is that when you plug in an LCD, it doesn't default to its native res in all cases. That seems nonsensical to me. But I think you're talking about the resolution on your internal display? So the internal display switches to 800x600 after reboot? That's très etrange. :(

So do you shutdown the computer while it's driving the monitor? Do you do that a lot, or just once every couple of weeks for updates?

i have a weird issue with 10.4.3 and photoshop cs - i can't drag files onto the dock icon and have them open any more. i'm not sure when this problem appeared - maybe with .4.2?

any ideas?
