So i recently just upgraded to Photoshop CS3. I love it thus far, but whenever i save a document as a .PSD or a photoshop file, and i try to open it in photoshop CS2 it wont open, and the computer doesnt even recognize the file. And i also dont see on the drop down menu to be able to change it to be compatible with CS2. Any ideas?

check your preferences. there is a drop-down for preserve file compatibility, sounds like yours is set to "never"

I just took a look in the prefs, but i did not even see any option like that in CS3

Photoshop>Preferences>File Handling

Bottom half of dialog box: Maximise PSD and PSB File Compatibility

Select: Always
