Unfortunately what has prompted me to post for the first time is a problem. This is driving me insane and i cant even open up any photos from the file open menu without this message occurring. I have been hunting high and low for the past 24 hrs, on solutions to this problem. The supposedly finest photo editing software will not open photos is a total joke imo.

So i load photoshop cs5 and go to file-open-scroll down to where my photos are i hear the drive spinning and then this error message appears.

Here is a list of what i have tried so far !

Resetting the preferences when photoshop starts

Checking the fonts book for duplicates ( none were found)

Restarting in safe mode problem sill occurs

Downloaded cocktail and cleared all cache etc.

Used onyx also still no joy

Posted on the adobe forums had some replies but nothing which has made this problem go away.

I am using the trial version of it and it looks like they will be losing a customer its appauling so far.

Please some one help me. This is like suppling a bike without any wheels !

Kind regards

G

What kind of file do you want to open? Can you open that file via Preview for example? Can you not drag the file onto the PS icon in the Dock?

Have you re-installed PS yet?

corrupted images

Sounds like your files are corrupted, sometimes RAW files or tiff files with transparency and layers can be problematic.

Try to opent he images in another app.

Are you on 64 bits SN? 32 works better with photoshop...

Good luck

:)
