or it won't be since Adobe already gave it the full court press. brief mention maybe but that's it. instead Apple will focus on hardware, how they stepped up their software, 1-2 other partners doing revamped apps etc .

i bet it won't happen. a way better version of iMovie that's more in line with the Mac version sure. maybe even something that goes a bit beyond iMovie into a Final Cut Elements sort of territory, but full on Final Cut i don't see as likely.
but you know with Photoshop coming to the iPad, Adobe will definitely announce a full version of Premiere for the iPad too I am sure.
A demo of new software is all well and good, but not the highlight in my eyes. Most people probably moved onto Affinity at this point anyway.
Adobe is releasing a FULL version of photoshop to the iPad pros in 2019. That is a Monster program. I see zero reason why a Full version of Final Cut can’t be done as well. With the speed of the 12x and rumor of a USB-C connector for high speed video transfer. I think the writing is on the wall. Not saying Apple will announce it at this event...but you know with Photoshop coming to the iPad, Adobe will definitely announce a full version of Premiere for the iPad too I am sure. So why wouldn’t Apple the maker of the iPad Pro not release an iPad Pro version of their Pro video editing software. I think it’s inevitable.
since you're so sure that Adobe is going to do Premiere for the iPad. and the FULL version, why don't you tell us why they didn't announced it at Max. I mean they had no trouble announcing Photoshop with the vague 'in 2019' which could be Dec 31, 2019 so why fail to announce that they are also doing Premiere.
There's a lot that is going to have to happen in iOS and on the hardware side before that happens though I'm thinking.
I don't know how others produce videos but the thought of trying to bring together multiple media types and work with them from multiple source apps (whether it be Photoshop or After Effects etc. etc.) without true file system support, mouse support, insufficient RAM and on a single small display sounds like a freakin nightmare to me. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to be able to do simple video projects with a little more oomph than say iMovie but what you're talking about in terms of full versions of Final Cut and Premiere sounds sweet yet unrealistic for any heavy use IMO. Might make for a "because it can" argument I suppose but sometimes just because one can doesn't mean one should.
Why? whats the point? Mouseless Premiere? What a joke.I too hope Apple announces a full version of Final Cut at this event. If Adobe will be releasing photoshop for the iPad in 2019, you just know they will probably announce an iPad version of Premiere sometime soon as well.
Have you checked out Luma Fusion? Really great app for editing video! I just think that with adobe’s announcement of photoshop coming to the iPad, coupled with rumors about Apple replacing the lightning connector with USB-C for high speed video transfer & being able to run 4K HDR displays...I don’t think it’s a stretch to see it happening. I currently edit videos on the iPad with Luma & iMovie...and I love the tactile feel of touching the screen. I am fully immersed in the IOS ecosystem tho. Many of my artist friends are too. Sure, it’s not for everyone. But as an artist, photographer & videographer, I am Really excited about the rumors of these upcoming iPad pros and what they will be able to do.
This sorta reminds me of the days when dslrs started appearing. Many of my film camera using friends scoffed at the dslr ever coming close to film, let alone replacing it. Yet slowly advances were made...and now it has replaced film for most professional photogs.
Even tho we are comparing digital to digital here, I think the attitude toward the iPad pros is similar in a way. Some people scoff at them ever being able to do what a desktop can do. Slowly that has been proven wrong. And now Adobe is gonna release a full version of photoshop. So let’s see what happens with advances in video editing. Again, it won’t be a solution for everyone...but I think more and more will begin to embrace the iPad Pro for things they don’t now. Hey, as an iOS only artist I am very excited.
But as an artist, I am cool with whatever tools any other artist uses to achieve their creative vision. It’s all good.
Why? whats the point? Mouseless Premiere? What a joke.
Maybe. They did announce software for ingesting/basic video edits. I imagine the lack of official support for external local storage is a concern. As may be Premier's code base—they don't seem really optimized for the Mac ATM whereas FCPX (love or hate it's UI) is amazingly optimized and fast.I too hope Apple announces a full version of Final Cut at this event. I agree, it’s the lack of external storage that’s the biggest roadblock for serious video editing on iPad. With USBc i can see light at the end of the tunnel though. Maybe with a beefed up version of files in iOS 13..?Maybe. They did announce software for ingesting/basic video edits. I imagine the lack of official support for external local storage is a concern. EDIT: I didn't read your later comments. It sounds like we're in agreement here.
As yet unseen Photoshop lite.I bet you also were one of those that said photoshop would never come to the iPad. Now it is.
That would be my guess, too. The files app is a little clunky but all the basic functionality is there. Overall, iOS seems to echo early Mac OS (i.e. versions 1-9) with files feeling a bit more like the original finder with a sidebar. You can do everything, it just requires you to be more deliberate.I agree, it’s the lack of external storage that’s the biggest roadblock for serious video editing on iPad. Personally I'm more excited to see Procreate 4.2. And if I were Apple, I would probably do just as much to highlight the power of Procreate (what with it being an iOS exclusive, and ripe for acquisition, as much as I hope this doesn't happen).
