PhotoShop on Intel OSX? Slow?

I've read in a couple threads that PSwas slow, but I've been using it since I've gotten my intel Mac, and I don't see any significant slow down or anything. Worked exactly the same as on my old Mac. Maybe I don't do big enough projects compared to others?

I haven't noticed that it's particularly slow, but as may be the case with you, my MBP is significantly faster overall than my old 1GHz G4 TiBook, so the slowdown in Photoshop by running it through Rosetta is probably not noticeable.

I think once the UB version is available, we'll all see how slow it really was.

If you tried Photoshop using bootcamp or parallels you might then notice a large difference in speed. Once photoshop becomes a UB, then you will see how fast Photohop can really be in OS X. But PS is not going to be a UB until 2007

Hmm... I dunno. I don't notice any lag at all. Maybe a little when goin crazy with the brush but besides that all the filters, and stuff work just as good as if there was no change. I guess it's good that I'm happy with it.

Maybe you have enough memory? Most complaints about Rosetta come from having too little RAM (less than 1GB).

On my 2.0Ghz Macbook with 512 RAM PS is slow but not so slow that its unbearable.

See the post above yours - an investment in another 512 MB or more of RAM could be a significant improvement for you.

That's right. Photoshop CS is much slower under Parallels (which only uses one core) than under Rosetta (using both cores). Using Boot Camp and running Photoshop for Windows using both cores should be faster (though not by much).

Of course you would have to have a windows copy of PhotoShop to use it with Boot Camp or Parallels. Rosetta runs the PowerMac version.
