Photoshop & OS-X/ HD-Cinema Display Calibration?

any tips for photoshop color calibration to match with os-x' & my hd-cinema display?

in photoshop the color settings are set to the display but nevertheless colors appear slightly different in saved .psd files when previewing them in preview safari or other os-x apps.

what's the best way to match them perfectly throughout the system & monitor?

I think you need to read up on color management. Andrew Rodney has written some very good articles on the subject for Adobe, Xrite and other companies.

Monitor calibration is separate from Photoshop color space. You should calibrate your monitor with a hardware calibrator. OSX uses this calibration for your entire system. Photoshop color space is another entity and should not be set to your monitors calibration profile. You should have Photoshop color management set to Adobe RGB or sSGB depending on your output intent.

While Adobe RGB is good for printing, sRGB should be used for images intended for the web. Safari is a profile aware browser, so files saved in adobe RGB may look fine in Safari, but when viewed by a non-color aware previewer they will look washed out. That is why sRGB color space is better suited for non-printing applications.

For OS X apps you might want to visit the ColorSync Utility. By default most RGB color space is set to sRGB. With the utility you can change the default. Also establish the same color management settings within the entire Adobe Creative Suite of applications.
