photostream geotagging

When I save pics (that were taken by the iphone 4s) from the photostream into the ipad 2 camera roll , the geotagging info is missing and cannot view the pics in places in pics app. Any fix for this? anyone with the same issues?

Geotagging only works when I email the pics from the iphone to the ipad.

I am on iPhoto 11 and solved the issue
go to Preferences, advanced, set Look up places to auto and it imported all of the geo tag info from photos taken with my iPhone.
