Hi,

I like sharing my photos with friends, family etc.

But I noticed that when I share a stream with let's say 5 people and each of them subscribes, they all can see who this stream is shared with and see their email addresses. I don't always want everyone to know who this stream is shared with nor do I want everyone necessarily to have access to the 'social features' of photo stream (post comments, likes etc.) Also, not everyone will appreciate that his or her email address is being shared with others without their consent.

I suppose you cannot hide change this behaviour? iOS8 perhaps?

Whenever I share a photostream with family and friends, I make the photostream "public" then they get two options. They can log in to iCloud and they will show up on the list of subscribers or they can simply click the "view on web" link. Sometimes I go a step further and I send an invite only to myself. Then I strip out the icloud login version of the link and forward only the "view on web" link to family and friends.

If you are worried about strangers seeing your photos, remember the url is obfuscated. It isn't something simple like the old days of mobileme_dot_com/yourusername/somethingplainenglish, it's more like icloud_dot_com/photostream/hexadecimaljibberish.

Hope this helps...

Thanks. That's what I thought as workaround as well, send it to myself, publish on website and just share the website link.

I just don't like working with workarounds I suppose..
