Photostream question

I cannot seem to find the details on apple's website so I thought I'd ask here. I noticed that if I delete a picture quickly after taking it, it hasn't been sent to iCloud and photostream yet.

As everyone knows, you cannot delete individual photos from your photostream, only the entire set and start over.

Does anyone know how long you have to have the photo on your device before it uploads to your photostream?

I could be wrong, but I don't think that you have that much time. I know that you can try an experiment and actually time it to see how much time your device takes to connect to the servers.
