Hi everybody,
I have dead Mac Pro 3,1 which after pressing the power button doesn't do anything other than spinning the fans (without speeding up).
On the diagnostic LEDs STBY is orange as it should and EFI is green. No PWRG, GPU or any other light.
I tried with changing PSU, GPU, RAM and 3,1 risers, nothing helps.
But, after looking deeper at the Logic Board I found two damaged components on the flip side where the ethernet chip is (bottom right corner of the board where the 820-2128-B marking is). Damaged components are 2 capacitors: C2Y29 and C2Y26.
Does anybody know how critical those components are for powering the machine up and what is their role ?
