PIA blocks SMTP servers in Apple Mail

Been having this problem with Private Internet Access on my Mac. Whenever im connected, it blocks the SMTP servers in mail. When I contacted PIA, they simply said its not their problem.

Now even IMAP is struggling to connect. Why does PIA hate Apple Mail so much?

I have PIA running and haven’t had any problem with iMAP accounts.

So I potentially found the problem. When I was connected to the Vancouver server it wasn't connecting, but changing to a Seattle server did seem to fix the problem. The problem is, I need to use Canadian servers in order to connect to certain websites, and I shouldn't have to loose email access when I need to access those sites.
