Now that they released the software for Mac OS, will an iPhone app be next? Thoughts?

The are already apps for uploading pics to Picasa.

And viewing Picasa via Safari looks very good, but I don't know about its functionality.

Indeed, there are numerous iPhone apps which support Picasa ... a few include: ShoZu, AirMe, Pixelpipe and PixUp.

iPicasa does it

iPicasa in the app store is a really cool app. It takes care of all aspects of picasa. add/delete photos, albums. Stores locally to view offline. multiple accounts and automatic sync that can be turned on and off.

Sort off the topic but would you say picasa is a good place to backup your photos?

i use flickr.com and their app in the app store....

FWIW i've been using them for a few year (already invested in the site now to change i guess) so that is kind of my "goto" site for my photo backup online, I know there are many that can store in "raw" format, but since it's off an iPhone it probably doesn't much matter because you're not saving 20mg Pxls shots off a 5d.......
