I just picked up a “new” M1 14’ MacBook Pro directly from an Apple Store and I noticed that the battery already has 5 cycles. Is this normal or is this laptop actually used and returned?

Many people have noticed that their new MBPs have up to 6 cycles or so. No worries.

It's no different than when you buy a car. They never have zero miles.

I mean if the QA is well done, they must have tested every aspect of the product to see if there is any deffect.testing the display, colors,HDR , keyboard, performance , BlaBlabla

I doubt they'll go as far as draining 5 cycles just to confirm it's good tho lol,but might be an answer

Got mine today and it's on 2 cycles. I think it's normal to have a few. I read somewhere last year about it.

I read this before I picked up mine so it was the first thing I checked. Mine had 1 cycle on it. I don't know if yours is used or not, but why would they need to have 5 cycles on it? I'm not sure what to think. What did you decide?
