Honestly, the 3acp skin is more decorative than protective by far on the outside, but on the inside, I feel much better putting my sweaty palms on the skin. If ever the skin gets worn out from my palms resting on it, I can remove it and replace it easily. Also, I had thought I wasn't going to want the part on the trackpad, but it was easier to install it and then remove it than to install the rest of it while avoiding installing the part on the trackpad. So I installed it all to start with the intention of removing the trackpad portion, but after it was installed I was surprised at how much I liked it and how smoothly the mouse still works. I also figure that this will also protect that portion of the laptop from being worn by my sweaty and oily fingers.
