iPhone 8/Plus picts don’t adjust sideways

Is there a setting in the phone for sideways viewing, my wife *+ does not adjust sideways for better viewing. Sorry to waste everybody’s time, but I can’t find it in settings.

Sorry still haven’t found it in control center what is the title & wife 8+ doesn’t seem to have the same type on CC has in my X

In Control Center, the Orientation lock is a symbol of a padlock with a circle around it. The circle isn't completely closed and has a little arrow on one open end of the circling line. Check in Settings if you don't see the symbol. She may have reconfigured her panel to not show that icon.

Congrats. The next step was to ask if she had (via Settings) designated the Mute switch to Lock Screen instead of Mute.
