Picture in Picture on the iPhone with iOS 14 is one of those features once you experience and use, there is no going back. It's going to be a loved loved loved feature by news junkies reading twitter and sports junkies (when it returns!)

So far its working great with (Native Apple media viewer)
ESPN app
ATT TV Now app
Disney+ app
HBO Max app
Youtube from Safari browser only

Even the rounded edges Apple implemented makes the PIP viewer look great on the iPhone screen. Pinch in/out to resize or tap the window to resize.

Few moments you realize a feature that vastly improves the iOS experience. This is certainly one that provides you freedom to continue working, viewing, emailing, reading, etc... Great job Apple!

was watching golf tv today using it - works really well. I wasn’t expecting it to be useful on a small screen but its really easy to nudge out of the way if you need to see top/bottom of the screen

Been enjoying it on my iPad for a while. Should have came sooner to iPhone but it’s useful when watching live video.

Does it work with Facebook Live videos? Can't seem to get it to. Thanks

Apps need to be updated for it, which can’t be done until Apple start accepting iOS 14 updates, in late August/early September. So, currently it’s only working in Safari.

Who knows when that’s coming, as they’ve still not bothered adding it to the iPad version and that’s had PiP for ages.
Using the web version of YouTube it works. Google wants to charge for these features which is ridiculous.

I understand charging for ad free and downloads. But to charge users for background audio is nuts.

I was not talking about the web version for PiP on iPad, talking about the App, and even with Premium, you don't get PiP on there, so I would doubt they're going to add it for the iPhone any time soon.

Based on how fast Google is at updating their apps for the latest Apple features (split screen etc), I predict the YouTube app will add picture in picture by 2025.

Also, the Split Screen support was only added by Google purely due to Apple mandating that support, otherwise it could never have come!
