This is my first car paid for by working 2 years at Hardees in high school. Nothing new at my house we dont have $60000 for a mercedes or anything. This is my car through college and my mom has a skylark.

Congrats on the car and all the hard work you put toward getting it:) . Join a VW/Jetta forum and start learning about how to maintain it and keep it looking good. Just the little things like changing out your air cleaner, changing your oil, and changing plugs will save you $ and you'll feel great doing it. Maybe you'll get some "go fast" tips too......ooooh I'm bad I'm trying to help you save $ not spend it on speeding tickets and higher insurance:p . Cheers

'85 Carrera

Here's my 'fun' driver.

Winter's been holding off, so I'm still able to take it out occasionally to work.

BTW, looking over at the current MacPoll, "The Beast" (as I call it) is probably older than around 20% of the MR readership.

1990 Toyota Pickup. 4-speed manual, baby. This will be my first car (Will be, bacause I'm not old enough to drive.)

It's a beat up POS, but I love it.:) 213,000 miles still going strong.

Oh, and that big dent on the side? My fault. My dad let me drive it one day as we were coming home. I hit a fencepost.

Is that a Hilux? According to Top Gear, they are indestructible! They made one into a "Toyboata"

I like the 2dr Yaris. Think it's pretty cute but hate the center instrument stack....well speedo anyway. Instruments belong in front of the driver. Anyway, saw a Yaris a bit ago and it's license plate was "UFUNNY2". I was laughing so hard I almost went off the road:D . Good luck with your Yaris. Cheers

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought I read somewhere Toyota was about to pass GM sometime soon as the best selling company in the US. Anyways, they're very popular around here. I was walking through my school's student parking lot and saw that the majority of the cars were Japanese (not just Toyota).
