I'm hoping someone can help. For some reason, pictures that I have sent and received are missing from my conversations in the default messaging app. The weird thing is that when I click on the contact information, some of the pictures are there while a large chunk of them are missing, but they're still missing from the actual conversation. Here is a detailed list of events that led to my pictures missing from all messages.
- Saturday, I was recording my niece when the video stopped recording. My phone told me that I don't have any more storage, so I needed to delete some files or apps to continue. I deleted some apps and files, and I noticed that all of my pictures were missing then, but was given the option to download the images from iCloud. I proceeded to download them and everything looked good.
- Sunday, while babysitting my niece, my iPhone 7 (that I gave to my niece) had the iOS update prompt, so I updated her phone. After she left, I noticed that the pictures again were missing from my messages. I updated my phone, hoping that would do the trick. However, the pictures were still missing (and this time there was no option to download the images from iCloud).
- Monday, I contacted Apple support and they told me to delete as much as I can off my phone. I am now at 28 GB of storage but still no pictures. Apple support suggested I might have to take a look at my niece's phone and see if the pictures are just taking a long time because it's trying to sync to two phones at once. However, before I drive to my brother's, I'm hoping someone might have some other suggestions that I can try.
(I've tried clicking iMessage on and off and resetting Network Settings.)
I've attached pictures of what my messages look like and what it looks like when I click on the information option under a friend's contact. As you can see, instead of pictures, it's just bubbles with a string of text and under information, some of the pictures show up while the rest are missing (but even the pictures that show up under information don't show up in the messages).
