is there anywhere you can go to check how many you have (posts), or does it come with time?

click on your name on the left of a post you have done, and go to "View Public Profile"

then you can see how many posts you have, how many on average you have a day.... lots of fun stuff.

Great link for avatar setup and gen ed. In general, trying using the search feature before you post a question to see if it has been discussed either in great detail or very recently. Just because you find it in the search doesn't neccesarily mean you can't ask it again but usually you can find the answer to your question without starting a new thread or hijacking a current one.

This idea of searching is very appreciated and will keep some of the more easily-annoyed members from yelling at you ;)

500 Points

Thanks for the tip. I was looking in the control panel for ages to see how to add an avatar picture under my name.

So I guess this it the shameless bid to put me one reply closer to 500.

Keep up the great site.

just to push this a little further, does anyone know what number of posts it takes to get macrumers member, regular etc etc
You could always try a given site's FAQ.

:edit: Panda beat me. :p
