Hi all,

I'm having issues with ping with my Mac on a connection at a friend's apartment which I'm housesitting. While I've had no other problems with connecting my G5 to the net via the 8Mbps connection (blisteringly fast by Australian standards), I'd like to have a play of Call Of Duty 2 online multiplayer, which I have for the Mac.

It's never been a problem at my old home, but here even the highest ping servers won't accept me. I'm not a major gameplayer so I'm not aware of all the issues, so are there certain settings I need to change for the new connection?

My friend is difficult to contact, but I have access to the PC he uses on this connection, so if there is information about the account I need to find on it I should be able to manage to do so, if someone can give me any tips about what to do.

Thanks, Q.

What is the type of connection that he has? If it's satellite then you won't be able to game on it at all. Even though the bandwidth is good the latency is horrible.

Erm, good question, and I don't know the answer. How would I figure it out? I do know that he plays games online on his PC, but I don't know if they are ones such as FPS's which require such low latency.
