I find the maximum size of the picture-in-picture video window on iPad is too small. It’s fine on macOS.

The window size is fixed, and it doesn't scale when using a larger external display - it's the same size on an 11-inch iPad and a 27-inch display.

There is no support for seeking via the progress bar in the PiP window on iPadOS, and macOS.

Microsoft Edge now has enhanced controls for PiP.

Yes, but other windows can’t be kept on top, like PiP.
You are of course right, but you can make e.g., the video playback covering the upper half of the screen and place&size your text/image editor;drawing;whatever other program window in the lower half of the screen. obviously this becomes tedious when you run more than 2 programs 🤓
