We've developed a new app called PixCompare that can help clean up the camera roll on the iPhone/iPad. It's based on something we've been working on the Mac for almost 20 years. The app is free to download and use. There is only a one-time in-app purchase of $0.99 to activate the delete function.

PixCompare tries to identify groups of identical or similar pictures. You can then select the ones you no longer need and batch delete all of them. The app finds duplicates based on color, contrast, location, and date/time.

This could come in handy, now that many users return from their vacation with full camera rolls!

PixCompare Version 2.0 released

We've recently released a new version of PixCompare. Among other things, we've cleaned up the whole user interface, to make it even simpler to use. We also improved the actual comparison code.

Also, we decided to move away from the in-app purchase, instead we offer the app for $0.99 with no additional or recurring costs. We think this is more transparent to the users.
