I’m debating on getting one of these. I don’t see how the Pixel 2XL is $300 better than the OnePlus 5T. Thought anyone?

I’m in a similar situation myself, but between the regular Pixel 2 and OnePlus 5T. Thinking I’m just gonna wait for the OnePlus 6 though.

Anyway, the difference is really that the Pixel 2 XL has water resistance, stereo speakers, and the best camera on a smartphone. I feel like the OnePlus 5T has the better screen in terms of quality despite having a lower resolution, and it has the best charging solution available. Both run Oreo but software is slightly different on both.

I think the 5T is great for the money despite its shortcomings in these areas.

If you need a very good camera, go for the Pixel otherwise the 5T will satisfy you for sure.

You can always test the 5T for 2 weeks, if you don't like it, just send it back.

Pixel 2XL has too many quality control issues to even recommend. Go 5T and save the $. Really, I would recommend waiting for the GS8+ to drop in price to like $400 by Feb or March since the S9 will be announced at Mobile World Congress.

Pixel 2 camera is best in class for all smartphones in 2017. And it has guaranteed official support for 3 yrs. Plus I feel it's a better built phone, with a really cool design ( panda ). And the IP67 is always a nice feature to have on a phone, as is stereo speakers.

Based on my above comments I feel the Pixel 2 is worth it.

I've owned my Pixel 2XL almost a month now, and totally love it. No other phone I'd take right now.

I can't do Samsung phones. I always have issues with them and they start to lag almost immediately

Google has a good camera but the screen is not top shelf. OnePlus 5T is more well rounded.

As many cannot. I don’t think I can use their stuff either because the honeymoon period ends abruptly or they have issues right away. Hardware is amazing though. I think I rather go LG G6 before the S8+.

Google extended the warranty for the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL. That’s a good deal. Plus you get free storage of your photos and videos at original quality for two years, I think. Timely updates are another draw.

I don’t know much about the Pixel 2 XL firsthand. My husband had one but not long enough for me to really see problems develop or get a sense of how it would have worked out for him.

I have a Pixel 2 and I love it. It takes very good video and excellent pictures. I had to return my first one due to a problem when recording video. Somehow the return shipment never made it back to Google. Online support was wonderful and they ended up crediting my account after we established where the shipment went missing and they determined it was the post office and not me.

Anyway for me the value was in the warranty, Google photo and video storage. If they keep their trade in program in place, that’s another draw for me.

That warranty is really necessary since people are probably RMAing a lot. LG really blundered the V30 and the XL 2.

If I am reading this right, the Pixel 2XL has replaced your LG v30 as your favorite phone. Is this correct?

So it's mainly to do with the screens?

That's concerning since Apple have also turned to LG for their future screens.

So both my preferred phone makers will be using LG screens….

Yep, it's the screens. LG did blunder with boot looping w/ the Nexus 5X and G series. The 2 year warranty is originally from boot loops.
