I had pretty much decided I was going to get the 3 as I was not ready to deal with the notched unbalanced look of the 3XL. But it looks like Google is now officially confirming that you can hide the notch in settings if you don't like it. Now I'm not sure what to do. Anyone else in the same boat?

Only difference is the size of the device. Pick the size you like better. Seems pretty straightforward to me.

Battery life being the #1 reason to get the XL.

That's the main reason I got the 2 XL last year, and I love this phone. With all day battery life, it can go a day and a half easily. Whereas the small Pixel has been known to be ok on battery life, not great, not bad.
