We've developed a new app that can turn your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch into a temporary webcam:
  • Define a daily time window when photos will be taken
  • Time interval between photos can be 1 minute, or up to 12 hours
  • Photo size can be adjusted from super tiny up to the full resolution of the built-in camera
  • Add a date/time stamp and an optional caption
  • Currently supports the following targets: Twitter, Dropbox, iCloud drive, FTP, and local photo storage. More targets are planned!
  • Multiple targets can be selected (e.g., send photo to Twitter and your Dropbox at the same time)
Re-use those old devices!! Find out more.

We just posted version 1.1 of PixWebcam to the app store. We incorporated many user requests and feedback. This release will make it even easier to use your iPhone as a webcam / network camera!

Update in V1.1:
  • Keep always the same filename (name can be specified) - usefull for websites sites
  • Take picture now – for testing the settings
  • Continuous / 24h mode
  • Select front or rear camera
  • Prefix for filenames
  • Twitter account can now be selected (if more than one account)

Looks like a great app! Is there also an option to use your app for viewing the webcam from one iDevice (webcam) and to see it with another iDevice but then in the Notification Center/Widget area?

Not at the moment. But we already thought about a viewer app, that would display the latest picture. This app would work on all iOS devices. (Even on the Apple TV). Widget viewer shouldn't be a problem either. Maybe something for the next release!? In any case - thanks for your feedback!
