Hi all, I am an avid reader, but dont post much. I have a bit of an issue I cannot figure out.

Just yesterday there was an update for Pkg Backup, which I updated to. Ever since I did that, I am getting an error when I open it saying the following: "Warning, Limited functionality enabled. Please support me by buying it!". The problem is, I HAVE purchased the app. It even says that on Cydia that I have officially purchased it, I still have the paypal receipt.

I tried the following:

1. Uninstall / Reinstall
2. Uninstall and rebooted then reinstalled.

My question is how do I fix this because from all the things I am reading it is pretty hard to get ahold of saurik, also I do not see contact info on Pkg Backup's website.

Thank you all for your help!

Me too!

Same issue here!

Here is the email address I used to let them know of the issue:
info@pragmatixconsulting.com

Please let me know if you make any progress.

EDIT:
on the website there is mention of version 3.1.3 though I am not sure when it will be released.

Version 3.1.3 *NOT YET PUBLISHED*:

1. -Bug fix for ‘Limited functionality’ issue.

HA! Sweet dude!! Good find! Thank you! :D

EDIT:

Just checked Cydia and there was an update to 3.1.1.. If you look on their site they have a temp fix:

Version 3.1.1 :
-Unfortunately, v3.1.0 got published. Expect v3.1.3 very soon.
TEMPORARY FIX:
In a root user ssh session, do:
1. Unzip the PkgBackup.app.zip (http://www.pragmatixconsulting.com/iphoneApps/PkgBackup_Changelog_files/PkgBackup.app.zip)) into /Applications
2. ldid -S /Applications/PkgBackup.app/PkgBackup_
3.chmod 6755 /Applications/PkgBackup.app/PkgBackup_
4.chmod +x /Applications/PkgBackup.app/PkgBackup

Well, I followed the steps, couldnt figure out what number 2 was, it said invalid command. I skipped it, when I open the app I do not get the error but I am unable to do a backup, the app will crash and close at the end. Also, I can not change the "layout" slide. It is stuck on off.

Did you capitalize the "S" ?

Case matters in Mobile Terminal

New version on Cydia addresses this issue.

It fixes the licensing issue, however, I am still unable to turn on the "Save Layout" feature (Its grayed out)... am I doing something wrong?

Me either but I do not understand what this feature even does. Please explain.

From my understanding this saves the layout of your springboard. Not that you really need it now that iTunes does it.. But please correct me if Im wrong.

3.1.3 didn't work for me

Hi. I installed the new version (3.1.3) and then even uninstalled and re-installed, but I still get a 'limited functionality - please purchase' notice and can't do a restore... (I did purchase it, and Cydia shows it as purchased...).

I have the same problem. I can backup my apps now, but I can't save the icon layout. The switch is also disabled for me. Has anyone been able to use this and save their icon layout?

fyi - iTunes does not save the layout of your screen if you have 5 rows, 5 columns, or 5 icon dock running. Itunes figures you're phone isn't Jailbroken and thus can only run a 4x4 icon screen. This new version of PkgBackup is supposed to save your custom layout, but I've yet to be able to get it to function.

But if you dont use the 5 row icons, iTunes does save your layout, right?
