Hi,

Please, please can someone help me.

Something went wrong with me iPhone 3G (running firmware 3.1.2, jailbroken with blackra1n RC3) and I had to restore.

When I tried to restore my jailbroken apps with Pkg Backup (version 3.1.3) it came up with: "Warning, Limited functionality enabled. Please support me by buying it!", but I have purchased it!

I searched the message on Google and found: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/814697/

On the above link it said that this was a bug and it would be fixed version in 3.1.3, but I have version 3.1.3 and this still happens :(

Is there anything I can do to get it working again?

Thanks :)

Many have reported this problem and I have not read of a fix.

The change log on the developers website lists a version 3.1.4, and says it is not yet released.

I have version 3.1.3 on my 3GS and I no longer get the limited functionality error. However, I am not able to back up my springboard layout. The switch is still disabled. It does allow me to backup my apps. I haven't tried to restore, as I've not had a need for that yet.

My guess is that the developer is aware of the issue with the springboard layout and is working on a fix for that in version 3.1.4. I am not sure why you are still getting the limited functionality error. Every post that I've seen on here, as well as the forums at modmyi.com, has said that 3.1.3 has fixed their errors, with the exception to the springboard layout switch.

You might want to try going into Cydia, removing the package, and then reinstalling it. Also, make sure you have an internet connection when opening PkgBackup.

At least I'm not the only one.

I can backup too, but can't restore.

I've tried this, but it didn't work.

I have a good WiFi connection, so it shouldn't be the internet.

The developer says on his Twitter account that the new version is just waiting on the repo manager. Hopefully it'll be up soon.

That's good. I hope it's up soon!

Good news!

The change log on the developers website has been updated!
http://www.pragmatixconsulting.com/iphoneApps/PkgBackup_Changelog.html

The update say's:

Version 3.1.4 *NOT YET PUBLISHED*:

-Bug fix for ‘Limited functionality’ issue.

-Bug fix for app crashing sometimes at end of backup operation.

Version 3.1.3 :

-Bug fix for ‘Limited functionality’ issue.

TEMPORARY FIX:

In a root user ssh session, do:

1. Unzip the PkgBackup.app.zip into /Applications

2. ldid -S /Applications/PkgBackup.app/PkgBackup_

chmod 6755 /Applications/PkgBackup.app/PkgBackup_

chmod +x /Applications/PkgBackup.app/PkgBackup

I'll try the 'TEMPORARY FIX' and let you all know if it works for me.
