I finally jumped into the apple bandwagon today i got my 27inch imac with i7 processor 8 gb of ram, ms office and apple care for $3,360.00 Australian dollars from the orginal price $3,625.00.

I'am not really going to buy games apart from the only 2 games i want starcraft 2 and diablo 3.

Now time to get a iphone 4 as my iphone 3g contract is about to end.

Congrats, be sure to post after you get it up and running and let us know your impressions of it!

Mrmarts,

Congrats on taking the leap.
Enjoy it when it arrives.

Just waiting for the revision before I make the jump:(
Hope it's no too long a wait

I took the jump last night. My order is "prepared to shipment".

I ordered 27'' i7 - I will upgrade RAM on my own, saves a lot :)

So now that I ordered Apple can update the iMac line next week ;)

I only hope the revision is not a major facelift or a touch screen interface

From the opinion that seems to be floating around here it does not appear that the new iMac will under go a major revision. It seems like a 'refresh' more than anything else.

It seems that the consensus believes that a major revision to the line might be next year with the proliferation of a new Intel processor that might be used on the iMac line.

Enjoy your new iMac!

Have fun. Just finished setting up new 27" iMac (8G and 2T) and Parallels/W7. Couldn't be faster or quieter. The only "problem" is screen resolution is so high that I have to see Word/Excel docs at almost 200%.

You should enjoy it.

The screen is huge, I find myself leaning back often, but I got the space I wanted.
Excellent image quality.

Granted I went through two machines prior to this one because of yellowing/gray banding issues, but I have stuck with this 27 i7 and its treating me well..

I do notice backlight leak against the top of the screen, but its not a deal breaker.

I hope yours is without flaws.

I hope so 2 as I have been waiting since June 12, I hate to get it and send it back

when i ordered mine, i expected the worst in terms of defects etc as i always seem to get screwed with stuff like this. however, mine arrived absolutely flawless. i'm pretty paranoid about defects and whatnot, so i was actively searching for yellow tint issues etc, but the screen's cool across the board. no dead pixels, no backlight bleed, no whiny noises, etc.

just perfect.
