Hi. I'd like to introduce my calendar app, for people who like things simple:

"Plain Days" doesn't have more features than any other calendar app, actually it has less than most of them. Instead, "Plain Days" makes the core functions you expect from a calendar much easier and faster to use:

  • just point and drag to create a new event, to change the start and end time of an event or to move it to a different date
  • tap the start time to set an alert
  • tap the end time to set a recurrence rule
  • tap the delete button to erase an event

All those features are available straight in the event, without unnecessarily complicated sub-menus. In addition, it offers some other specialities:

  • quickly browse through the days and months with a finger to get a peek of every day on your screen
  • pinch and move to create a new event to find a fitting time slot
  • a clear side by side overview when using multiple types of calendars, even on the smaller iPhone screen
  • change the settings to customize your day

There's also a free version available on the App Store: 'Plain Days lite' works only on iPad, and has less functions than the full version

New version, same simplicity

Recently, I released version 2 of "Plain Days". Besides many design and detail improvements, it has a new week overview in landscape mode (only the paid version).

you are right, it has a new week overview in landscape mode.thanks for your sharing.

I like the idea - I use my calendar all the time but don't use any of the features like inviting people to events etc.

However, I won't be downloading Plain Days as the design is very poor and not pleasant to look at.

Thanks for the feedback

What would you change about the design? I probably wouldn't win a prize with that design, but I tried to keep it as simple and useful as possible. The biggest challenge was to fit all the information on the iPhone screen. But good input, I'll work more on the design in upcoming versions...

I wish I knew what to change to make it better, but I'm no designer. But I do feel it jars with the clean designs we've all become used to with ios and Android. I don't mean to be rude, but the design looks very dated to me.
