I have the actual music files stored in the iTunes Library on my home computer and on my iPod.
I would like to play the music files stored on my iPod through my work computer iTunes program. My work computer iTunes program does not appear to want to play any file unless a copy of the file actually exists on the computer.
Can I not tell iTunes to play the files stored on my iPod?

This is for a Windoze box, BTW.

It sounds like you might just have to register the ipod to the computer and then set the preferences in iTunes to import manually (that way it doesnt add unwanted songs and erase your iPod.

I think thats all that you would have to do.

How about just plugging your computer speakers at work into your iPod?

Might be a pain to switch them in and out, but that would be the easy solution. I bet Radio Shack even sells an A/B switch so you could switch between them...
