iPad Play movie on iPad

Hello,
I have a few movies I downloaded while ago and honestly don’t even remember where i have got it..
Anyway I am planning to travel where I won’t have access to internet. Hence I copied those movies to iPad but I can’t play it. I did the same a few years ago but I forgot how I opened it.
I believe that I used some iPad app to play movie..
Could you please advise me the easiest and simplest way to play my own movies directly from iPad?
